Our privacy policy and how we use your data

1. Introduction

TrustSEO ("we," "our," or "us") is a brand operated by Hovers.ai. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service, which provides verified Google Search Console insights and SEO recommendations.

By using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the data practices described, please do not use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (if provided)
  • Account preferences and settings

2.2 Google Search Console Data

When you connect your Google Search Console account via OAuth 2.0, we access the following information in real time when needed to provide the Service:

  • Site verification information
  • Search performance metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, position)
  • Site URLs and basic site information
  • OAuth access and refresh tokens, encrypted at rest

We only access data you explicitly authorize through the Google OAuth consent screen. TrustSEO requests read-only Google Search Console access and cannot modify your Google Search Console properties, settings, or data. We do not store your Google Search Console data; it is fetched from Google in real time when you use a feature. We do not access your Google account password or other Google services.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Service:

  • IP address and browser type
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Time and date of access
  • Device information

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for:

  • Providing and maintaining the Service
  • Displaying your site's verified GSC metrics on leaderboards
  • Calculating proprietary SEO metrics (TrustSEO Score, Momentum, Efficiency, Footprint)
  • Ranking sites in appropriate leagues (Rising, Growth, Authority)
  • Fetching current Google Search Console data when requested
  • Communicating with you about your account and the Service
  • Improving and optimizing the Service
  • Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse
  • Complying with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Public Leaderboard

If you choose to participate in a public TrustSEO leaderboard, limited derived or aggregated metrics may be displayed, including:

  • Site name and URL
  • Aggregated SEO metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR, position)
  • Proprietary scores (TrustSEO Score, Momentum, Efficiency, Footprint)
  • League classification and rankings

We do not display sensitive information such as specific search queries, individual page URLs, or personal account details.

4.2 MCP Tool Connections

TrustSEO can connect to ChatGPT, Claude, and other compatible applications through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). When you authorize an MCP connection, TrustSEO limits tool access to your authenticated account and the Google Search Console properties you explicitly select.

  • MCP tools retrieve and analyze authorized SEO and Google Search Console information; they do not modify, publish, or delete Google Search Console data
  • OAuth connections use a consent flow with PKCE, and API-key connections use an authorized TrustSEO credential
  • Google Search Console data requested through MCP is fetched in real time and is not stored by TrustSEO
  • We may record limited operational telemetry, such as tool name, request outcome, timestamps, authentication context, and API-key last-used information; we do not record bearer tokens or MCP tool arguments in operational logs

The connected MCP application may process information according to its own privacy policy and settings. Review the permissions shown during connection and disconnect the MCP integration or revoke its credential if you no longer want it to access TrustSEO.

4.3 Service Providers

We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics and monitoring services
  • Email service providers
  • Payment processors (if applicable)

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • OAuth 2.0 authentication for GSC access
  • Encryption of access tokens and sensitive data
  • Secure HTTPS connections
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Disconnect your Google Search Console account
  • Opt-out of certain data collection
  • Export your data

To exercise these rights, contact us through our support channels or use the account settings in the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Account information: Until account deletion
  • Google Search Console data: Not retained; fetched in real time when needed
  • OAuth tokens: Until you disconnect Google Search Console or delete your account, encrypted at rest
  • Derived leaderboard metrics: May be retained in aggregated form when you opt into leaderboard participation
  • Usage data: Typically retained for up to 2 years

When you disconnect your Google Search Console account or delete your account, your encrypted OAuth tokens are removed. Any optional derived leaderboard metrics may be retained in aggregated form where permitted by the Service and applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
